COPE: The Corporation for Public Entertainment, Inc., presents

Starring Tony Papenfuss and John Voldstad, best known as "My Brother Darryl and my other Brother Darryl," on the Newhart television show.

You'll laugh your antlers off as these four Mighty Hunters head off to their shack in search of the elusive 14 point big buck. Who are they kidding? In all the years of 'hunting' they have never fired a shot. After all, between the beer and the bull, who had time to hunt?

But this year things have to change. Under a threat from their wives to get a deer or no more hunting trips, they find themselves in panic mode on the last day of camp with no deer in sight.

With great songs about wives, grunt horns, coupon clippers, relationships, beer, bingo players and even male dancers, the show is one your patrons will smile about for months. In fact, you'll be pleasantly amazed at how many new faces you'll see in the audience.

  • The set as well as the script were very authentic. We had a lot of new faces and unlike a lot of shows, no one left at intermission even on the night of a big sporting event. Deer Camp was a lot of fun for every one. The audience loved the show. Dawn Weber, Cal Center Presents. Reedsburg, Wisconsin
  • When we scheduled the show we thought sales would be strong so we asked for a tentative 2nd show. When tickets went on sale the first show sold quickly. We added another show and both almost sold out. I’m certain Deer Camp will be around for years to come. My office administrator simply described it as “A Hoot.” Michael Ranscht, Virtobo University Fine Arts Center, La Crosse, WI
  • Overall, we were very pleased with the production. We thought the production was of high quality and the cast and crew were courteous and professional. The show was very well received by a nearly sold-out crowd. It was especially fun for the ladies to have a window into what really goes on at Deer Camp! Brad Behusky, South Milwaukee Performing Art Center. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • The audience loved it---one night would not have been enough. We took a chance and booked two shows. It was a good decision because it brought in a whole crowd of first timers to the theatre and they weren’t disappointed. For many of our people this was non-fiction. The cast was not only easy to work with but they were a ton of fun as well. The only complaints we received from our audience was that they were sore from laughing. Woody Woodruff, Campanile Center for the Arts. Minocqua, WI
  • When we placed the musical Deer Camp on our season, we were confident that it would be a show well-suited to our audience. We scheduled one performance, but quickly added a second. Both performances did extremely well in our 1,100-seat venue. Deer Camp will be around for years to come. Michael Ranscht, Virtobo University, Fine Arts, La Crosse, Wisconsin
  • Blaze orange and camouflage are not often seen in our venue, but they were on parade the night that the musical Deer Camp came to town. These lovable losers are characters everyone can relate to and laugh at. It’s a treat to present such accessible entertainment. Shows like Deer Camp are busily developing new audiences for theater! Besides being an absolute winner for our season the show brought in a lot of first time theatre goers. This show definitely struck a funny bone with the audience. This show made our marketing people very pleased as well as our audience. We had a very high number of new faces and everyone enjoyed the show. It is our biggest selling show so far this year. Leslie Lamuro, University of Wisconsin. Whitewater, WI.
